Directions
Künefe is one of the most popular desserts from the Middle East. However, it has long gone out of bounds there and is now famous all over the world.
What caused this?
Well, simply because it is very tasty. An extremely delicate dessert. It combines two main tastes – sweet and salty. To make it, kadaif is used – thin strips of dough that look like very thin noodles. The characteristic of this dessert is that cheese is also used. It can be hard cheese or mozzarella – a matter of taste preferences.
Did I mention this is a syrupy dessert?
Exactly! A syrup is made with which to pour the cake and a wonderful combination is obtained. For luxury, I will also add nuts – pistachios. Other types of nuts can be used, such as walnuts, for example.

Melt 80 g of butter. I use half of it to grease the dish in which I will bake the dessert. Grease the bottom and sides of the pan liberally. My tray is 20x20 cm. |

I divide the kadaif in two. Put half in the tray and lightly press with my hands. I sprinkle the cheese and pistachios on top. I cover these products with the other part of the kadaif. Press it again. The rest of the butter spread on top. |
