Sticky Toffee Pudding is a classic English dessert that consists of a soft pudding soaked in a rich caramel sauce. This dessert is incredibly delicious and is typically served with a luscious cream or vanilla sauce.
Steps

Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius (350 degrees Fahrenheit) and grease the bottom and sides of pudding molds (or one large mold) with butter and flour. Place the chopped dates in a bowl and pour boiling water over them. Sprinkle the baking soda over the dates and let them sit for about 10 minutes. |

In another bowl, beat the butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract together. Add the date mixture to this bowl and mix well. |

Gradually add the flour and stir until you have a smooth batter. Pour the batter into the prepared mold(s). |
4

|
Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes or until the pudding is golden and the top is set. |

Meanwhile, prepare the caramel sauce. In a large pan, melt the sugar over medium heat without stirring. Once the sugar turns golden and caramelizes, add the cream and butter. Be careful, as the mixture may splatter. Reduce the heat and stir the sauce until it becomes smooth. Be cautious as the sauce will be very hot. |

Remove the pudding from the oven and pour some of the caramel sauce over it. |

Serve the hot Sticky Toffee Pudding with the remaining caramel sauce, and you can add cream or vanilla ice cream for extra flavor. |
